Swan Bay Children’s Fishing Competition
Swan Bay Holiday Park 28th March 2016
On the 28th March, many contestants ranging from 6- 14 and their loyal supporters congregated around Swan Bay for the annual children’s fishing competition. The tradition has been running for a number of years, proudly orchestrated by the philanthropic, Daryl Harden who likes to bring the community together and organises sponsors, sausage sizzles and raffles to raise money for the annual event.
With the competition growing in numbers each year, there was a huge turn out this year. Contestants, hungry for the prize and the winning status, dispersed in different directions around the bay in a bid to return with the biggest catch of the day.
14 year old, Ben Carey was the lucky winner of the day, returning with a whopper catch of Gummy Shark, snapper and flathead weighing up to 6.5Kg and scooping up the $250 prize! Well-done Ben!
This year Caravan Parks of Australia were the proud sponsors of this event and we hope to carry on this partnership for the future Swan Bay fishing competitions. We believe it is a lovely way to bring everyone together to unite as a community and we are honored to be a part of it.
